Historic House where Nongam has born and the direct descendants have lived for 650 years
Nongam Head House is where Nongam was born and grew up, and the direct descendants have lived in their home for 650 years. The house was initially built by the great-grandfather of Nongam, Lee Heon, the ancestor of Andongiphyang, Yeongcheon Lee clan.
At the end of Goryeo, while he was travelling between Yeongcheon to Seoul, he found this area so beautiful, so he settled down. There are 23 generations of descendents, and 18 generations from Nongam. It is called as "Nongam Head House", because Nongam has been nominated as "Bulcheonwi(不遷位)".
Head House is consisted of Bonchae(main house) - Sadang(shrine), Anchae, Sarangchae, Byeolchae, Munganchae, and Byeoldang(detached quarters) - Geunggudang, Myeongnongdang on the 2,000 square meter of the land.
"Geunggudang(肯構堂)" is built by Lee Heon around 1370, "Myeongnongdang(明農堂)" is built in 1501 when he was 44 years old. He drew the picture named as "Guigeoraedo(歸去來圖)", to show the resolution of Guigeorae(homecoming after one´s resignation from a government office).
Head House is mentioned in Buncheonheon Yeondo(汾川獻燕圖, treasure 1202)
There are many pictures of Head House and Bungangchon(汾江村), especially it is well illustrated in "Buncheonheon Yeondo(汾川獻燕圖, treasure 1202)".
There was a gigantic tree of a kind of locust tree in the outer court, so it was named as "guinsu'(九印樹)". The name is originated from the celebration ceremony of his 9 sons and son in-laws titled as high government officer positions.
Also, there are elegant square shaped rock called Okinseok Rock, Geumsangseok Rock, also a small pond called Yeonggeumdang. Head House structure can be supposed to be built when "Geunggudang" was built, estimated to hold around 600 years of history.
